The question isn't whether you'll succeed. But somewhere, on the way, your attention went to everyone and everything outside of you. The question is whether the life you've put together delivers you the conditions to flourish.
What about your own wishes and desires? Do you dream, fantasize, imagine and delve into every detail, like you're putting together your favorite meal? Or do you feel uncertain about what you truly want?
You may have created a full life, but without feeling fully nourished. Nourished is what it takes to be flourishing.
Improvement Is for Homeowners, Not Women!
Were you ever encouraged to celebrate who you are, without immediately jumping to change or fix something?
Women are dictated endless lists of what's wrong with them and what to improve: thinner, richer, more productive, disciplined, confident, polished, patient, sexy, successful, spiritual, and desirable. Even personal growth can become another performance. It's exhausting because it's legislated by the outside, not by your inner desires.
Instead of treating you as a fix-her-upper, what if you begin cultivating the aliveness within you? What if you could be fully seen when aliveness sparks in you? Learn to recognize what ignites you, hidden under others' expectations. Get feedback on your true north desires and those that are just ho-hum. Grow to trust yourself, your responses, and your crew of bosom buddies.
A woman is not a renovation project. Flourishing takes off when she stops earning approval and becomes the woman she loves, adores, and approves of.
Flourishing Includes Success, But Success Does Not Include Flourishing
What we call success doesn't automatically create radiance or fulfillment. Flourishing is how your life feels, while you are living it. Flourishing asks different questions of you and of how you measure success and quality of life.
- Does your life nourish you? Does your work bring you to a state of radiant aliveness?
- Do you know what you want? How many people in your life know what you want?
- Can you choose from desire rather than obligation? Arousal rather than habit?
- Do you own your attention? Do you approve of yourself?
- Does your body feel turned on, glowing, radiant?
- Are you happily social and getting what you want from your relationships?
- Have you built a team, or do you carry it all yourself?
- Can you receive support, admiration, respect—without losing your authority?
- Do your relationships have time and space for truth, warmth, pleasure, and play?
- Are you living from your natural intelligence, or following a formula?
- Is your emotional range growing or shrinking?
- Do you have a plan for where you are going that you literally chomp at the bit for?
Your Attention Belongs to You
A self-possessed woman is not controlled by outside demands, expectations, or opinions. She is housed in herself. She knows how to return home.
She can listen and speak without surrendering her authority. She can include others, without disappearing into their needs. She can want something without explaining. She bypasses reasonable, directly to influential. She can change her mind, ask for support, create a team, and choose in service to the life she wants to live. She owns her yeses and nos.
Self-possession is not isolation, being guarded, or less connected. It doesn't mean self-reliant. She owns her attention, choices, desires, and participation. In The Nurturary, you'll practice becoming Artistic Director of your life, including other people, places, and adventures because you choose to, not from obligation.

Outside Results Blossom From Inner Ripening and Clarity
She stopped choosing the practical version of everything. Her grandma's patchwork quilt was replaced with a red velvet bedspread. Practical cotton sheets were traded in for satin. Her surroundings began to reflect her delight instead of "making do."
She let her appearance become an expression of desire. She began choosing what made her feel beautiful, feminine, and good, instead of what felt like nothing.
The way she met the world shifted. Businesslike rebuffs softened into connection. She allowed herself to notice men—and to enjoy being noticed—without hiding. She had longed for a mad love affair. Instead of giving up, she let herself pursue it—and got what she wanted.
She had always dreamed of singing and dancing. Those wishes stopped sitting on a wish list and she took action and did them. Travel with friends was also on her Desire List—she made it happen with beach trips in Europe. What once felt out of her league became available and enjoyable.
